The Revenue Officers feel powerful when they flout the law with impunity. No adverse consequences follow. Neither the superior officers pull up the subordinate officers for such transgressions, nor the courts take the matter seriously. If the taxpayers have to spend time and money just to get the matter remanded, it is their misfortune. Neither the Government, nor the Courts care.
