Donations to PMNRF can be online free of charge The Reserve Bank of India today placed in its public domain the names, account numbers and MICR codes of branches, which are authorised to collect funds for the Prime Ministerís National Relief Fund (PMNRF), to enable people to contribute to this fund through electronic fund transfer (EFT) or special electronic fund transfer (SEFT). The Reserve Bank had earlier asked banks offering online remittance services to offer this facility free of charge for remitting donations to PMNRF. By placing the name, account number and MICR code of branches accepting these donations, the process of online remittance would be facilitated. The details of the banks collecting funds for PMRF where individuals, etc. can remit funds through EFT / SEFT.

Commercial Banks Dear Sir, Contribution to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) In consultation with Prime Minister's Office and Indian Banks' Association (IBA), it has been decided that all the branches of commercial banks will receive donations and nominate a Nodal Branch in New Delhi for the purpose of collection of contribution to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. Prime Minister's Office has designated the following branches as designated branches.
1. Each collecting branch would send the collection to the respective nodal branch of its bank in New Delhi each day along with the details of the Donor Cheque / Draft No., address and amount of contribution. 2. These Nodal branches will in turn remit the funds to any of the 12 designated branches, which are maintaining PMNRF a/c. 3. The banks which do not have any branch in New Delhi may collect the donations and remit through a single DD / EFT to any of the 12 designated branches along with details of the Donor, cheque / draft No., address and amount of contribution. 4. On-line remittance of donations may be accepted by those banks, which offer such services. These banks should however display this prominently on their Website. 5. All these services by the banks to be provided free of charge. 6. Contribution to the PM National Relief Fund has been notified for 100% deduction from taxable income under Section 80(G) of the Income-tax Act. 7. The official receipts will be issued to the donor by the PMO as per the current practice. 8. To facilitate smooth transmission of funds to the PMNRF Account, RBI has decided to nominate Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi as the Coordinating Officer who will be available for any clarification.
