CBEC short film on evolution of GST & Coffee Table Book on GST released

NEW DELHI, SEPT 05, 2017: DURING the just-concluded Rajaswa Gyan Sangam, the Prime Minister had released a Coffee Table Book on the journey of GST. On this occasion, a short film on evolution of GST was also released.
The Revenue Secretary on his part made several suggestions such as,
++ To develop cordial relationship with the state officials at all levels for successful implementation of GST;
++ Continuous education of taxpayers and consultants through outreach programmes and training of our own officers, town hall meetings must be continued;
++ A very effective grievance redressal mechanism for GST is required. Response to some genuine grievances should be published for the benefit of all.
He also shared three common suggestions for both the officers of CBEC and CBDT. They include,
++ Special efforts to be made by the CCs and Commissioners to train and meet officers of the lower bureaucracy;
++ Housekeeping issues should not be neglected;
++ Development of a communication strategy as it is not only important to do good work but it is also important to communicate the same to the people.
