CBDT sets up Panel to review Reward Guidelines

NEW DELHI, MAY 01, 2018: THE CBDT had last revised its Reward Guidelines in 2007. To re-examine its raison de'tre and whether its format should be changed, the Board has set up a Committee of officers with detailed terms of reference which include,
(i) Whether to continue with the reward scheme and, if yes, whether to continue in the present form
(ii) Categories of work areas in which reward may be granted
(iii) Categories of officers and staffs who may be considered for granting reward
(iv) Rate and amount of reward for each work area and category of officers/staffs
(v) Procedural issues including compatibility with ITBA, timeline, record keeping, preparation of proposal, processing, competent authority to grant reward etc
(vi) Study of national and international best practices and incorporation of suitable ones.
Mr P S Puniha, Pro DGIT, NADT has been named as its Chairperson and other Members are Rajesh Tuteja, Pro DIT (lnv), Chandigarh; Geetha Ravichandran, Pr.CIT- 4, Bangalore; Peeyush Jain, CIT (A) - 30, Delhi; Dr. Shibendu Moharana, CIT (IT&TP), Hyderabad & Syamal Datta, Director (Inv. III), CBDT, Delhi.
The committee may co-opt any other officer as member and may also obtain and consider inputs form IRS Association, ITGOA and ITEF. The committee shall submit Its recommendation within two months.
