India-China border tensions - If provoked, we will give befitting reply: PM

NEW DELHI, JUNE 18, 2020: REACTING to the rising border tensions between India and China, the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, saluted the great sactifice of the 20 soldiers killed in the Galwan Valley.
The PM expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs and noted that their sacrifice will not go in vain. Though India is a peace-loving country but if provoked, Mr Modi said that it will give a befitting reply.
He said that whenever there have been differences of opinion, India has always tried to ensure that those differences never turned into a dispute. He said that India does not provoke anyone, but India also does not believe in compromising with the integrity and sovereignty. Whenever it was needed, India has demonstrated strength, proving its capabilities in protecting and defending the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
