Jaipur Customs nabs 14 pax with 32 kg gold worth Rs 15.6 Crore

JAIPUR, JULY 04, 2020: THE Customs here intercepted 14 Indian national pax who arrived by two charter flights from UAE and Saudi Arabia with 31.9918 kg gold valued at Rs. 15,67,59,820/- concealed in their baggage was recovered from these passengers.
Out of these 14 passengers, three passengers arrived from Ras-U1-Khama(UAE) by Spicejet flight No. SG-9055 and 12 Gold Bars/Bricks weighing 9.339kg value at Rs. 4,57,67,100/- (Rs. Four Crore Fifty Seven Lakh Sixty One Thousand One Hundred) was recovered from them. Eleven passengers arrived from Riyagh (Saudi Arabia), 22.6528kg of gold bars valued at Rs. 11,09,98,720/- (Rs. Eleven Crore Nine Lakh Ninety Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty only) predominantly Suisse mark was recovered from them. The said recovered gold bars have been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. The said passengers are being interrogated and are likely to be placed under arrest in terms of Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962.
