EPFO extends deadline to submit life certificate by pensioners till Feb 28

NEW DELHI, NOV 28, 2020: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the deadline for submission of the life certificate by pensioners till 28 February, 2021 in a move which will benefit 35 lakh people.
EPFO took the decision keeping in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the vulnerability of elderly population to COVID-19, the labour ministry said in a statement today.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr Santosh Gangwar, lauded the efforts of the EPFO and said during this extended period, pensions will not be stopped. The pensioners who could not submit their life certificates, Jeevan Pramaan Patra (JPP), till 30 November, will continue to receive their pension till the February 2021 deadline.
Multiple modes for submission of JPPs are available including Common Service Centres (CSCs), branches of pension disbursing banks, post offices and Grameen Dak Sevaks.
