Modi congratulates Bharat Biotech for progress in Covaxin trials

HYDERABAD, NOV 28, 2020: Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi visited the Bharat Biotech facility in Hyderabad today and congratulated the scientists for their progress in the Covaxin vaccine trials.
“At the Bharat Biotech facility in Hyderabad, was briefed about their indigenous Covid-19 vaccine. Congratulated the scientists for their progress in the trials so far. Their team is closely working with ICMR to facilitate speedy progress,” Mr Modi tweeted after visiting the facility.
The prime minister, who is on a three city visit to personally review the COVID-19 vaccine developments, landed at the Hakimpet Air Force Station at around 12.55 pm. He then drove straight to the Bharat Biotech International Ltd facility at Genome Valley.
“We are humbled by the visit of the Prime Minister to our manufacturing facility today. We are truly honoured by this recognition,” Bharat Biotech said.
Mr Modi had visited Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad earlier in the day, and after Hyderabad, he departed for Pune where he will visit the Serum Institute of India.
