Board of Trade meeting to discuss foreign trade policy, Atmanirbhar Bharat

NEW DELHI, DEC 01, 2020: THE Board of Trade (BOT) will meet on Wednesday, 2 December, to discuss the new Foreign Trade Policy (2021-26) and strategies to scale domestic manufacturing and exports.
Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr Piyush Goyal, will chair the video conference which will see representatives from states, industry and export bodies in attendance.
The key issues being taken up include an overview of the export/import performance, investment promotion strategy for Atmanirbhar Bharat, recent trade remedies and initiatives since the last meeting.
The BOT is a platform for regular discussion and consultation between trade and industry and advise the government on policy measures related to the Foreign Trade Policy to boost India's trade. It also provides a platform to state governments and union territories to articulate their perspective on trade policy, and also to the centre for apprising them about international developments affecting India's trade potential and opportunities and to prepare them to deal with the evolving situation.
The meeting will be addressed by Ministers of State for Commerce and Industry Mr Som Parkash and Mr Hardeep Singh Puri.
