Sharing details of his visit to pharmaceutical companies in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune to review the vaccine's development, the PM said India is developing eight potential vaccines - three are indigenous. They are in different stages of trial and will be manufactured in India.

Mr Modi said the vaccination campaign will kickstart in India as soon as experts approve. In an effort to administer the vaccine in an efficient, smooth and transparent manner, a database of healthcare and frontline workers, the augmentation of cold chains and the procurement of syringes and needles are in advanced stages of preparation.
