APEDA holds buyer-seller meet to increase Basmati rice export to Azerbaijan

NEW DELHI, JAN 16, 2021: THE Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised a virtual buyer-seller in association with the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan on Friday, in a bid to boost exports potential of India's agricultural and processed food products.
"The meet brought together key stakeholders from the respective governments and trade on a common platform for strengthening strategic cooperation between India and Azerbaijan in export of Basmati rice," an official statement said.
During the virtual meet, presentations were made by of leading Basmati rice exporters and Azerbaijan's National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers') Organisations explained the requirements or standards of rice imports from India.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, India had been unable to organise physical export promotion programmes and APEDA took the lead by holding such virtual meets. This buyer-seller meeting with Azerbaijan was the 16th in the series of such events which had been held with Thailand, Kuwait, Switzerland, South Africa, the U.S. and Canada before.
