Centre releases Rs 6,194Cr to 14 States as post devolution revenue deficit

NEW DELHI, FEB 05, 2021: THE Finance Ministry on Friday released Rs. 6,194.08 crore to 14 States as the 11th equated monthly instalment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant.
An amount of Rs. 68,145.91 crore has been released by the Centre to the States that incurred revenue losses, referred to as PDRD.
The additional resources also help the governments' deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The States that were recommended for the grant by the 15th Finance Commission are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
A similar amount was released in early January.
The Commissions has recommended a total PDRD Grant of Rs. 74,341 crore to the 14 States in the financial year 2020-21, of which 91.66 per cent has been released.
