PM to inaugurate World Sustainable Development Summit on February 10

NEW DELHI, FEB 09, 2021: PRIME Minister Mr Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Sustainable Development Summit virtually on Wednesday, February 10, said his office.

The theme of the 20th edition of The Energy and Resources Institute's (TERI) flagship event, the World Sustainable Development Summit, is 'Redefining our common future: Safe and secure environment for all' and will be held online from February 10-12.

It will bring together a wide number of governments, business leaders, academicians, climate scientists, youth, and the civil society in the fight against climate change, said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Guyanese President Mr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Mr James Marape, Speaker of the Maldives Parliament Mr Mohamed Nasheed, and United Nations' Deputy Secretary-General Ms Amina J Mohammed will be among the dignitaries attending the event.

Energy and industry transition, adaptation and resilience, nature based solutions, climate finance, circular economy, clean oceans and air pollution, are amongst the range of topics to be discussed during the summit.
