India at forefront in global efforts to forge decisive, coordinated response to COVID-19: President

NEW DELHI, FEB 11, 2021: PRESIDENT Mr Ram Nath Kovind welcomed envoys from El Salvador, Panama, Tunisia, United Kingdom and Argentina on Thursday and thanked their governments for supporting India's non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2021-22 term.
As the envoys lauded India's efforts in providing the COVID-19 vaccines to the international community, President Kovind said, "India has been at the forefront in the global efforts to forge a decisive and coordinated response to the COVID-19 to ensure our collective health and economic well-being."
He further stated that under government's 'Vaccine Maitri' initiative, highly affordable vaccines made in India have already reached several countries, re-enforcing its reputation as the "pharmacy of the world."
Accepting the credentials from the ambassadors and high commissioners virtually, Mr Kovind said that India enjoys "warm and friendly relations with all five nations and their ties were deeply rooted in a common vision of peace and prosperity."
The envoys underlined the strong partnership that their countries have with India and conveyed the commitment of their leaderships to strengthen bilateral ties.
