NEW DELHI, FEB 13, 2021: THE Indian Railways clarified on Saturday that despite media reports, there is no fixed date for the reinstating all passenger train services.
"Clarification is constantly being given to the media about it for last few days. It is being reiterated again that no such date has been fixed for resumption of all passenger trains operations," said the Ministry of Railways.
Though express trains are running, Railways Minister Mr Piyush Goyal had iterated that complete resumption of services shall be done in consultation with all other stakeholders keeping the COVID-19 situation in mind.
"All factors need to be taken care off and inputs of all stakeholders are to be factored," the ministry emphasised again on Saturday.
Railways has been increasing the number of train services in a graded manner since the relaxation of the lockdown and currently more than 65 per cent of the trains are running. In January alone, more than 250 trains were pressed into service again.
