NEW DELHI, FEB 18, 2021: COMMERCE and Industry Minister Mr Piyush Goyal on Thursday invited business from Indian and Singapore to uplift bilateral ties and said that three "Bs" of bollywood, Buddhism and business can help strengthen people-to-people engagement.
Addressing the India-Singapore CEO Forum, Mr Goyal urged Indian businesses to look at ways on expanding engagement and learn from Singapore's experiences in the fields of cyber security, disaster relief, and education and skill development.
He said e-commerce, fintech, smart manufacturing, and healthcare are areas where Singaporean businesses can access India's large markets and benefit consumers.
"I look at expanding the Singapore-India ties resting on a greater degree of people-to-people engagement and I think that can rest on 3 ''Bs'' - Buddhism, Bollywood and Business," he said.
He also recommended that the two nations can enhance cooperation by promoting women entrepreneurs.
Quoting Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, Mr Goyal referred to Singapore as India's "springboard to the ASEAN region," and expressed the belief that the new regional order will rest on both their shoulders.
