Over 3.13Lac domestic passengers fly on February 28

NEW DELHI, MAR 01, 2021: THE aviation sector has been recovering with over 3.13 lakh domestic passengers taking to the skies on February 28, the highest since the resumption of flight services in May last year.
"India flies high with confidence. 3,13,668 passengers on 2,353 flights on February 28, 2021 is the highest since resumption of domestic flights on May 25, 2020," said Mr Hardeep S Puri, Minister of State for Civil Aviation on Monday.
There were 4,699 flight movements while airports saw a footfall of over 6.17 lakh on the day.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic flight operations were ceased with effect from midnight of March 24, 2020, with operations resuming from May 25, 2020.
Mr Puri also shared that the Vande Bharat repatriation missions have facilitated more than 6 million people since May 6, 2020, with over 7,415 returnees on Sunday itself.
