COVID-19: 4,200 tonne LMO delivered by Oxygen Express

NEW DELHI, MAY 10, 2021: THE Indian Railways has delivered nearly 4,200 tonne of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in more than 268 tankers of its Oxygen Express trains to various States since the service started on April 19, the national transporter said on Sunday.
So far, 68 Oxygen Expresses have already completed their journey in a bid to deliver as much LMO as possible in the shortest time possible to the requesting States.
Till now, 293 tonne of LMO has been offloaded in Maharashtra, 1,230 tonne in Uttar Pradesh, 271 tonne in Madhya Pradesh, 555 tonne in Haryana, 123 tonne in Telangana, 40 tonne in Rajasthan and 1,679 tonne in Delhi.
“More loaded Oxygen Expresses are expected to start their journeys later in the night,” said the Railways.
Oxygen is also being delivered by Railways to new cities like Kanpur, which received 80 tonne of LMO on Sunday.
