Justice Sanjay Yadav appointed Chief Justice of Allahabad HC

NEW DELHI, JUNE 10, 2021: THE Central government on Thursday appointed Justice Sanjay Yadav, as Chief Justice Of the Allahabad High Court (HC) with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the Allahabad HC since April 14 after former Chief Justice Govind Mathur demitted office.
The Supreme Court Collegium recommended his elevation from judge of the Allahabad HC on May 20. Justice Yadav will have a very short tenure since he is set to retire on June 25.
Justice Yadav enrolled as an advocate in 1986 and practiced in Jabalpur for 20 years, where he specialised in labour and service matters.
He worked as a government advocate from 1999-2005 and was later appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh HC in 2007 before being elevated in 2010.
