NEW DELHI, JUN 12, 2021: THE Health Ministry on Saturday rubbished the claims of the alleged hacking of the COVID-19 vaccination portal CoWIN and the possibility of a data leak.
The ministry said the matter has been investigated by the Computer Emergency Response Team of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
"The claims of so called hackers on the dark web, relating to alleged hacking of the CoWIN system and data leak, is baseless," said Mr RS Sharma, Chairman of the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (EGVAC).
He further said the government is taking appropriate measures to ensure that the data of the people is safe with CoWIN.
The EGVAC Chair had stated on Friday that CoWIN stores all the vaccination data in a safe and secure digital environment and no information is shared with any outsiders.
