HM inaugurates Narmada, Sutlej & Cauvery Floating Border Outposts

NEW DELHI, MAY 05, 2022: WHILE inaugurating the floating BOPs, Home Minister, Amit Shah, said: "We can sleep peacefully because our Jawans on the border are serving the nation 24 hours a day, I wish to express my gratitude to the soldiers on behalf of the people. With the hard work, sacrifice, and valour of BSF Jawans, they need to be equipped with modern technology."
"As part of this, today three floating BOPs Sutlej, Kaveri and Narmada have been built by Kochi Shipyard and dedicated to the nation, based on Modi's vision of a self-reliant India," he added.
The cost of each BOP is Rs 38 crore and weighs around 53,000 metric tonnes, this floating BOP is equipped with modern facilities and safety equipment.
Equipped with modern facilities and safety equipment, the front section of these BOPs are bullet proof for the safety of our Jawans, as well as arrangements have been made for plenty of food supplies and these BOP can float with a DG set without refueling for a month.
