LSE to confer Honourary Fellowship on Mr N K Singh on July 3

NEW DELHI, JUNE 20, 2024: THE London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), one of the world's most prominent social science universities since 1895, is going to confer Honourary Fellowship on India's one of the most celebrated economist-cum-parliamentarian-cum-bureaucrat, Mr N K Singh, to celebrate his glowing achievements in London. The red-letter day for Mr Singh is going to be July 3.
An Honourary Fellowship celebrates those who have richly contributed to LSE and its global community. Mr Singh will join the elite club of Prof Sir Karl Popper, Prof Amartya Sen and Prof Friedrich Hayek and many others who have been conferred this distinguished award. A few Indians who have been honoured with this prestigious fellowship in the past are Dr B R Ambedkar, V K Krishna Menon, K R Narayanan, Ratan Tata and I G Patel.
Mr Singh, a former IAS officer, was appointed as the Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission by the Modi Government. He is currently on the board of Nalanda University where the Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a modern state-of-the-art campus yesterday. Mr Singh is closely associated with the Standford University and the Indian Advisory Committee of the London School of Economics and Columnia University. He was passed on the baton of presidency of the Indian Institute of Economic Growth by Dr Manmohan Singh, and after proper elections, he assumed the office.
