'DakGharNiryat Kendra' playing key role in connecting local entrepreneurs to global market

NEW DELHI, SEP 13, 2024: DEPARTMENT of Posts is continuously expanding its services, integrating new technologies and innovations, reaching last miles of society. Various new facilities have been introduced for corporate clients, exporters and local entrepreneurs. DakgharNiryat Kendra (DNK) is a significant step towards enhancing the export capabilities of local businesses. Now, the products of ODOP (One District, One Product), GI (Geographical Indication), and MSME will rapidly reach the global markets through the postal network. Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed these views while addressing the interactive session on 'Advancement in Postal Services and Services provided to Exporters,' organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at Ahmedabad. On this occasion, advancement in postal services was discussed through a power point presentation alongwith comprehensive discussions with various exporters. GCCI President Sandeep Engineer delivered the welcome address, Chairman of Logistics Task Force, Hiten Vasant presented the theme address, and Chairman of Mahajan Sankalan Committee, Ashish Jhaveri has given vote of thanks during the function.

Postmaster General, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that DakgharNiryatKendras (DNK) are being established as a one-stop destination for exporters to promote commercial export through postal channel. Exporters do not need to visit the post office to book parcels through the DNK; they can book them from their premises itself. Online customs clearance is also available.  DNK facilitates with documentation related to exports, printing of labels with barcodes, online filing of postal bill of export, and document-free customs clearance. The exporters, artisans, traders, and self-help groups from small towns and villages, are using DNK services to export their products globally.

Postmaster General, Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasized on the ease and efficiency of the postal network in connecting local entrepreneurs to global markets. He said that special sorting hubs and nodal delivery centers have been established for sorting and distribution of Speed Post and Business Parcels. Cash-on-delivery service is being provided for e-commerce products. The delivery status of postal items is being updated in real-time through the Postman Mobile Application (PMA). Online track and trace facility has also been provided. A new transport policy has been formulated by Department of Posts for the rapid transmission of mail and parcels. India Post and Indian Railways have jointly launched the 'Rail Post Gati Shakti Express Cargo Service' as a joint parcel product. He also mentioned about facility of Click & Book service, Parcel Packaging Units, and Digital Payment through QR codes in post office. PMG Yadav further added that for quick transmission of international mail, Foreign Post Office in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad and International Business Center in Surat has been established. On-spot custom clearance is available. International parcel service is available for over 200 destination countries and regions worldwide.

During his interaction with exporters, Krishna Kumar Yadav highlighted that along with letters, parcels, and logistics, services like money remittance, savings banks, insurance, India Post Payments Bank, Aadhaar, passport, and common service centers are expanding through post offices. Postal services have made numerous innovations in the journey from physical mail to digital mail and 'DakiyaDaklaya' to Dakiya Bank laya'.
