I was looking for statistics on Revenue collection in service tax. The latest period found on CBEC website was for FY 2009-10. The Department of Revenue was slightly better. It gave data for 2012-13 (upto Jan). I am sure all these departments have revenue figures upto the end of the last month. Why not share the information with the public. Instead of keeping outdated data on the website, it might be better to remove such dinosaurs. similarly, after all the restructuring in CBEC which has occupied several months' time, we still can't get information on new commissionerates and officers manning them. So also, most of the information under RTI Act about CPIOs and first appellate authorities is also wholly outdated. Though the webmaster is dependent on others for the content, I think, he also has a duty to bring upto date such backyards of his domain.
