Tax Consultant running sham firm & issuing fake GST invoices arrested

VADODARA, JAN 20, 2019: THE CGST sleuths here have booked a case against M/s Datar Enterprise for circulating fake invoices to the tune of Rs 582 Crore of various goods such as gold, silver and copper, without physical delivery of goods.

As per the official Press Release, the firm was being run by a tax consultant. The accused had issued bogus purchase invoices worth Rs 274 Crores and booked fake sale invoices worth Rs 308 Crores. The firm had issued such invoices to several buyers in Ahmedabad and Vadodara for availment of fraudulent ITC worth Rs 20 Crore.

After a search was conducted on some of the buyers' premises they have admitted to have availed ITC on such invoices without receiving physical delivery of goods. The accused has been arrested and remanded in judicial custory till next Friday.
