GST - Total refund till date is Rs 84K Crore; FM releases Compendium of Instructions

NEW DELHI, MAR 01, 2019: ON the occasion of 43rd Foundation Day of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and his team of senior officers along with the Expenditure Secretary, Mr G C Murmu called on the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Mr Arun Jaitley, in his office here today and briefed him on two recent achievements: Refunds of GST, and Operationalisation of PM-KISAN Scheme.
CGA presented a Report on Total GST Refunds made till date in this Financial Year 2018-19 which is about Rs. 84,000 crore. Under PM-KISAN Scheme, funds have been transferred into the accounts of more than 1 crore beneficiaries. On this occasion, a short film on ARPIT (Accounting and Reconciliation Portal of Indirect Taxes) was also shown to Finance Minister.
Earlier, Mr Jaitley released a Compendium of Instructions on GST Refunds and a Copy of the Operational Manual on Internal Audit. The Finance Minister congratulated CGA and his team on the occasion of Civil Accounts Day and appreciated the good work being done by ICAS.
