NEW DELHI, JUNE 13, 2018: FOR smooth implementation of any new tax reform measure which is most acutely needed is constant effort to educate both the officers as well as the assessees. In a bid to train the Seva Kendra officers, the CBIC has asked all Kendras to forward it the list of most commonly asked questions so that a refresher course could be designed.

There are about 8000 GST Seva Kendra offices in all districts across India. The offices have been set up based on range and division level so that a taxpayer can connect with the nearest GST Seva Kendra keeping in mind their area of authority.

GST Seva Kendra Centre's can help with GST registration, migration, return filling, GST queries etc. Taxpayers can walkin to the Centre without an appointment or fix an appointment before approaching the Centre for help. The officers serving across all the location make sure that any GST registered taxpayer who comes in with a query or issue does not leave unanswered. For this purpose, the officers posted at the GST Seva Kendras should be experienced and trained with the up-to-date domain knowledge of GST.

This issue was discussed with ADG, NACIN, Faridabad for training of officers posted at GST Seva Kendras. It was felt that a customised program is required to be developed by NACIN, Faridabad. For this purpose, it was felt that it will be prudent to asses the needs of GST Seva Kendras by calling for list of most frequent queries at Seva Kendras and the gap in knowledge felt by the officers handling the Seva Kendras.
